A: Not necessarily! Personal property and the cleanliness or messiness of your home will not be considered during the appraisal.

Q: Do I need to be present for the inspection? How long will it take?

A: A typical inspection will take 15-20 minutes. You should be present for the inspection, especially if you want to provide the appraiser with insight about improvements, and should definitely be there if you need to provide the appraiser with access to the property.
